Game 5: Crossfire (3-0-0-0) vs. Misfits (3-0-0-1)
6/3/2011
The Crossfire came into today's came with a chance to continue their undefeated streak, and they wasted no time getting too it. In a surprising but welcome turn of events, the Crossfire opened the scoring with a roofshot backhander from pinching defenseman Keith Reeher. This was a start of a career day for Reeher as he would end up with six points on the night. From this point, the Crossfire pulled to a 4-0 lead before surrendering a goal. By the end of the second period the score read 8-2 Crossfire. Possibly due to a lack of focus, but more likely due to a manpower shortage, the Crossfire ended up giving up a total of six goals, but a pair of late goals, one by Reeher and one by Mark Deems, gave the Crossfire the cushion they would need to stay undefeated and atop the standings.

6/22/2011
One day after the disappointing game against the defending champions, the Crossfire looked to rebound against the still undefeated Yellow Jackets. As has been an unnerving trend so far this season, the Crossfire let up an early goal within the first five minutes of the first period, as returning defenseman Keith Reeher got caught out of position trying to pinch the offensive boards, leaving Denning Meals, who was once again stepping in for goaltender Robbie Young, hung out to dry. As the YMCA roller summer sesson kicked off today, one of the most anticipated matchups of the day was the 9:00 slated game which pitted bitter rivals, the Orchard Park Crossfire and the Ripsticks against one and other. In the last meeting between these two teams, goaltender Robbie Young along with teammates Kendall Kerr and John-Thomas Baird were ejected as well as three players from the Ripsticks. This game went sour almost as soon as the puck dropped for the Crossfire, and three denfesive lapses later the score read 3-0 Ripsticks seven minutes into the first period of the the game. But the Crossfire battle backed and picked up a goal to end the period only down two. Building on the momentum from the solid ending from the first, the Crossfire took the lead 4-3 behind goals from Mark Deems, Joe Deems, and John-Thomas Baird. The Crossfire would give up another goal to end the second period tied at 4 apiece. In the third period, however, the Crossfire broke the game wide open, winning the game by a comfortable 10-6 margin.

Semi-Final Game
05/22/2011
The Crossfire were slated to play against the number one overall seed and undefeated Wet Bandits in the semi-final game. The game was one of the most physical played in Crossfire history and was very tight the whole way through the first period. With both goaltenders putting together very solid performances, the score was locked at 0-0 through most of the first period when a Wet Bandits defenseman covered the puck in the crease leading to a penalty shot by captain Keith Reeher who was shooting 100 percent in shootout attempts. In this instance however, he came in and hit the post on a shot wide right of the net. The score would remain unchanged for the remainder of the first period and all the way through the second period. The game had the feel of one that the first goal would win the game. This goal came with about ten minutes remaining in the third period, and it was scored on a blueline blast from the Wet Bandits. They would add another goal late to eliminate the Crossfire from the playoffs and would go on too win the PSCFHL championship.
Playoff Round One (04/27/2011)
The Crossfire would find themselves pitted yet again against That's What She Said in round one of the PSCFH playoffs, the team they closed out the regular season against, and the team that had eliminated them in the previous two playoff seasons. The Crossfire were determined to avenge all three of those losses, and came out ready to play. The first period was fast paced and very physical, and the Crossfire survived a few good rushes to get out of the period still tied at 0-0. In the second period, after a great setup from Austin Maddox on the rush, Buddy Doyle tied his regular season goal mark by beating TWSS's goaltender to put the Crossfire up 1-0. This goal was followed shortly by a great individual effort by Peter Koffler, to steal the puck off a TWSS defenseman, and beat the goaltender far side to extend the Crossfire lead too two. Goaltender Mitch Good made two huge saves, one at the end of the second period and one with about 5 minutes remaining in the game to preserve his own shutout and bring the 2-0 playoff win home for the Crossfire.
